It’s been raining for days. Freezing rain. Sideways rain. Pouring rain. Windy rain. Rain so hard you can’t see it, only hear it. Rain in the front of the house but nothing in the back. I feel soggy just looking at it, but hey: April showers bring May flowers, right?!

It stopped today. We wandered in the woods. We jumped in the puddles. Wes went for his first swim of 2021 and warmed up in the big tub.

It was a good day. Slow, quiet and good for the soul.

These photos make me happy. These are the ones I hope the boys look back on and love as much as I do. If I had to choose a favourite from this set, it would be the black and white one of Wes in the woods. He was mid-belly laugh, losing it over my dad falling into the moss. You can hear his giggle in the photo. The photo of him lying in the puddle is a close second.
